WHAT IS INTUITIVE EATING?

Intuitive eating is a way of eating based on trusting your internal cues instead of external gobbledygook like diet guidelines, guilt, and “should I/shouldn’t I’s.” We were all born with an intuitive eating process pre-installed. How cool is that?! As babies, we cry when we are hungry, and we pull away from the food source when we are full.

We all used to eat intuitively. Amazing!

However, for many of us, negative messages creep into the picture early on and gain steam as we get older. The negative messages have confused our basic instincts as well as complicated our relationship with food. Messages like “clean your plate,” “haven’t you had enough??” and “carrots are good, fat is bad” have really confused things.

Before the unhelpful messages, we intuitively knew when to start eating and when to stop. Well, you can find your way back to your own intuitive way of eating!
